Recognition of Prior Learning for the FNS50315 Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking will exempt you from completing the normal study process.

This program will evaluate your prior experience, training, knowledge, skills, and competency against the current requirements for the FNS50315 Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management.


For all delivery options, you will need to have access to a computer with an internet connection.
It is important to note that to apply for RPL, you must have at least 12 months related finance industry experience, principally involved in either the finance/mortgage broking, client facing lending roles with a lender, or similar. You must also possess a practical understanding of structuring complex loan applications. To determine your eligibility, we require a resume/CV to determine your suitability for this pathway. You must also be able to satisfy further criteria detailed below.


IMPORTANT: You may need to apply for recognised prior learning BEFORE enrolling if you are unsure of your eligibility. To confirm whether you qualify for this study option, please complete the resume template below and email to or contact us on (03) 9391 3643 to discuss.  



Please note: If you are deemed to have the skills and knowledge after our review of your resume, you may proceed with enrolling in the RPL process. If we do not believe you have the necessary skills, knowledge or experience to continue with the RPL application, we will advise you to enrol in the full course. Should you enrol into the incorrect course we may charge an administration fee to transfer the enrolment.   



In evaluating your RPL application, AAMC Training will consider whether there is sufficient relevant evidence to support your experience, knowledge, and skills, in line with the course competency units.

Once you have enrolled and paid for the Recognition of Prior Learning - FNS50315 Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, you will be required to complete a step by step process to satisfy evidence requirements. The RPL Evidence Kit (available in your Members Area post enrolment), outlines this RPL process in more detail. 

Step 1 – Candidate's declaration and resume detailing their industry experience. 

Step 2 – Third Party Declarer statements

You will require a qualified third party declarer, who is able to acknowledge your experience in the Finance/Mortgage Broking industry by completing supporting statements contained in the RPL Evidence Kit. Your third party declarer is also asked to provide evidence of their own industry experience. 

Step 3 – Risk tasks/evidence

Structured evidence or completion of task to support knowledge of risk management.

Step 4 – Marketing plan

Marketing plan or completion of marketing plan template to support knowledge of marketing.  

Step 5 –  Assessor interview

You must provide two alternative appointment times for our assessor to contact you to engage in a virtual interview via Zoom. You will answer various questions based on your industry knowledge. This will be a voice only recorded interview, as part of our evidence gathering process. 



Your enrolment is valid for a period of twelve months. RPL is a data gathering process and therefore is expected to take less time to complete than the full course. We cannot advise the time for completion, as this depends on your ability to collect the required data and complete the process as detailed above. This process is provided in further detail upon enrolment.
