Recognition of Prior Learning – Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking – FNS50315 will exempt you from completing the normal study process.

The program will evaluate your prior experience, training, knowledge, skills and competency against the current requirements for the Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management.


For all delivery options, you will need to have access to a computer with an internet connection.

To apply for RPL, you must have more than 2 years related finance in industry experience, principally involved in either the finance/mortgage broking, client facing lending roles with a lender or similar. However, this time frame may differ slightly dependent upon your experience and number of complex loans settled.  You must also possess practical understanding of structuring complex loan applications. To determine your eligibility we will require a resume/CV prior to enrolment  to determine your suitability for this pathway. You must also be able to satisfy further criteria detailed below. Your enrolment is valid for a period of twelve months. With reference to “face –to- face” training; participants are guided through the learning material and the assessments are completed by the participant post class time. Hence overall course completion is controlled / directed by the participant.


In evaluating the RPL application the following will be considered:
• Evidence – Is there sufficient evidence to indicate the experience, training, knowledge and skills of the applicant?
• Quality – Is the experience, training, knowledge and skills relevant and suitably extensive to cover all aspects of the competencies of the course?
• Relevance – Is the experience, training, knowledge and skills currently relevant to the course?

Once you have enrolled and paid for the Recognition of Prior Learning – Full Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management – FNS50315 you will be required to complete a step by step process to satisfy the evidence requirements:


Complete the RPL Assessor Interview Request form and provide a copy of your CV showing that you have at least three of the last five years’ experience in the Australian Financial Services industry, principally involved in facilitating credit applications for clients with more complex structures or requirements. This information needs to be upload into your AAMC Training member’s area. Your nominated assessor will then contact you to arrange a suitable time for a telephone interview.

• If you are proved to have the skills and knowledge at the conclusion of the interview you will then proceed to proving evidence.

• If your assessor does not believe you have the necessary skills, knowledge or experience to continue with the RPL application s/he will advise you to transfer your application to either an online, correspondence or classroom delivery course. Any monies that you have paid for your RPL application will be applied to your other preferred delivery method and you will only need to pay the difference.


1. You may be able to claim credit transfer for a unit/s that you have previously completed with AAMC Training or another RTO. Please refer to the Credit Transfer tab in your AAMC Training Members area and follow the instructions if credit transfer is applicable.


2. Print off the RPL Student Kit via the AAMC Training Members area, read it and complete the RPL application.

3. You will require a qualified Third Party Declarer who is able to acknowledge your experience in the Finance/Mortgage Broking industry by ticking the check boxes in the Competency lists contained in the RPL document. The Third Party Declarer is also asked to provide AAMC Training a brief history of their industry experience.

4. You will require an additional 2 written testimonials from people who can confirm your experience in the Finance/Mortgage Broking industry. These people must have a sound understanding of the finance industry and your experience.

5. Completion of assessment Task 1: Risk areas and stakeholder ID, Key risks, Risk action plan.

6. Completion of assessment Task 2: Marketing Plan

7. Completion of assessment Task 3: Complex broking options - Submit a complex client loan file using your in-house documentation.

8. Once you have completed the previous steps, upload your completed RPL application and all supporting documentation via the AAMC Training Members Area.
