  Helping us to help you!

ImageAAMC Training will be requesting the completion of feedback questionnaires, seeking your views on the quality of our education and training. The outcomes will play an important role in developing and delivering training at AAMC Training for yourself and others that follow after you.

AAMC Training must also provide a summary report of feedback from learners to its Registering Body to provide an indication of its performance. This is a condition of registration.

Under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF), registered training organisations (RTOs) are required to collect, use and report data on several Quality Indicators:

  • Learner (ENGAGEMENT); Feedback from learners gained from the learner questionnaire
  • Employer Satisfaction; Feedback from the employers of your learners gained from the employer questionnaire

Collecting data from employers and learners helps RTOs to assess their performance against all of the AQTF 2010 Essential Standards for Registration and most of the underpinning Essential Elements. In short, the data can help support continuous improvement processes to ensure that:

  • the RTO provides quality training and assessment across all of its operations
  • the RTO adheres to principles of access and equity and maximises outcomes for its clients
  • management systems are responsive to the needs of clients, staff and stakeholders and the environment in which the RTO operates.

Participation in this survey is highly valued, but voluntary. You are free to withdraw consent at any time. We will protect your anonymity and the confidentiality of your response to the fullest possible extent within the limits of the law.

AAMC is keen to keep our members aware and ask for your support to ensure compliance with this requirement. The survey should only take about 10 minutes to complete and will be mailed out with completion certificates.

Thanking you in advance for your ongoing support.

Priced at under $400, I am not complaining.” Commented by: Michael at 24 Aug 2010 12:21 PM

Another happy member who purchased the Toolkit also sent us her views regarding the CPD element that is also included in the pack;

“Hi Guys Just a short note to say how much I enjoyed doing my CPD points through your organization. I was looking forward to CPD (not at all) as I run a busy one person brokerage in the country. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed doing the CPD points so much I was at risk of not getting other work done Thank you for this wonderful program. I would recommend it to other brokers Best wishes"

  New Courses – New Opportunities!

ImageLaunching AAMC Training’s; ‘Mentoring and coaching in the workplace’ course.

High-performance, contemporary organisations know that a company is only as good as its employees. They place strong emphasis on personal attributes in selecting and developing staff. However, this does not come without challenges, not least of which may be significant gaps in the experience, knowledge, attitudes, skills, aspirations, behaviours, or leadership required to perform demanding jobs.

Formal training courses may vaunt wholesale transfer of these but organisational members will not likely stretch to their full potential without dedicated guidance that inspires, energises, and facilitates. Good coaching and mentoring schemes are deemed a highly effective way to help people through talking, increase self-direction, self-esteem, efficacy, and accomplishments.

This course covers;

  • Identifying learning needs in organisations
  • Defining coaching and mentoring
  • Identifying appropriate mentoring/coaching avenues

A worthwhile read from left field......

AAMC, as a leading training group, would not normally reproduce stories such as the one you are about to read. However we, like everybody else, sometimes tend to forget the simple things in life that mean so much to others in today's high pressured society. A Person's Self Worth. This is a lesson in itself and if after reading the story you just ponder on its contents, we will be pleased it was an inclusion in this newsletter.

The Cab Ride…

I arrived at the address and honked the horn. After waiting a few minutes I walked to the door and knocked. “Just a minute,” answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor. After A long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 90's stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940's movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, any knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

“Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she asked. I took the suitcase to the cab then returned to assist the woman.

She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness. “It's nothing,” I told her. “I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated.”

“Oh, you're such a good boy,” she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address and then asked, “Could you drive through downtown?” “It's not the shortest way,” I answered quickly. “Oh, I don't mind,” she said. “I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a Hospice.”

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. “I don't have any family left,” she continued in a soft voice. “The doctor says I don't have very long.” I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.” “What route would you like me to take?” I asked.

For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an Elevator Operator. We drove through the neighbourhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, “I'm tired. Let's go now.”

We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico. Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her. I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

“How much do I owe you?” She asked, reaching into her purse. “Nothing,” I said.

“You have to make a living,” she answered. “There are other passengers” I responded.

Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly.

“You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,” she said. “Thank you.”

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.

I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away?

On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more important in my life. We're conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU SAID ~BUT~ THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL.
